Glacier Explorers has been operating on the Tasman Glacier Terminal Lake in the Aoraki Mount Cook National Park since 1993 and is the sole operator allowed to do so.
Between mid August and May we offer the opportunity to access the murky waters of Tasman Glacier Terminal Lake to get up close and personal with New Zealand’s largest glacier, and its icebergs.
Guides:Glacier Explorers is undeniably unique - the way in which it is presented to you is what makes the whole experience. By keeping groups small, a personal rapport develops between customers and guides. Guides give an in-depth interpretation of glaciation, terminal lake formation, plate tectonics and a brief coverage of local and climbing history, flora & fauna, leaving you with not just an insight into the Tasman Glacier but to the creation of New Zealand. Your safety is our first and foremost consideration. Our guides are extensively trained and we operate to the highest safety standards at all times. |
MacBoats:Made in New Zealand, our state-of-the-art Mac Boats are virtually indestructible and the first choice in safety and durability. They are fully moulded Polyethelene one-piece double skinned pontoon boats made from quality virgin polythene. They’re impervious to osmosis and corrosion, designed to survive New Zealand's extreme UV level and have a low environmental impact because the polythene is fully recyclable and colour fast. Qualmark:Proud to be a Qualmark endorsed visitor activity. |
